隈部　歩　先生

Ayumi Kumabe

【メッセージ】

英語担当の隈部歩です。文学における女性像やジェンダーに関心があり、George MacDonaldというヴィクトリア朝の作家の作品を主に研究しています。

英文学を研究していると、外国語を学ぶ上ではその国の文化や歴史を知ることがとても重要だと感じます。そして学ぶ上では「ワクワクする」「ときめく」感覚も大事だと思います。そのため、私は単に英語を教えるだけでなく、英語を学ぶ意欲を刺激するように関連した文化や歴史を紹介したり、皆さんの関心事（例えば洋楽、映画、絵画、文学etc.）を共有したりすることで、一緒に学びの楽しさを味わえたらいいな、と考えています。

皆さんの歩みに寄り添う教育者でありたいので、授業やそれ以外でも気軽に質問等してくださいね。

スティーブン・アポテカー　先生

Steven Apotheker

Greetings! My name is Steven Apotheker. 文（ブン）先生と呼ばれています。I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts. I left Boston after completing my undergraduate degree to attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where I studied Japanese Art History.
Afterwards, I continued my studies at Kyushu University during my first two years in Fukuoka. I often visit galleries and art museums and enjoy discussing art and literature with my students. In my personal time, I enjoy weight training, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and cycling. I mostly exercise at home using kettlebells, but I look forward to seeing some of my students at the gym in Seinan. Please feel free to talk to me any time and visit me during my office hours.

ロバート・ハルス　先生

Robert Hulse

Hello my name is Robert Hulse, I am from Manchester in England. My M.A is in applied linguistics from Leicester University (UK). I have formed a teaching philosophy that students should feel comfortable in the class and we will have lots of activities in class to build confidence and steadily reach our study goals. My research is based around technology and we will use this in and out of the classroom. I like to watch, play football and go for long walks in my free time. Tim Pritchard

I’m Tim Pritchard from Oxford in the United Kingdom. Please call me Tim. I’ve taught English at universities in Fukuoka since 2006. I came to Japan in 2002 after meeting Japanese lacrosse (ラクロス) players playing lacrosse in London, UK. My research interests include using learner motivation and mindsets to help students improve their English. I followed my dreams and scored for Wales in the Lacrosse World Championships in Baltimore USA in 1998. I want to help you use English as a tool to follow your dreams.
