On Friday, December 12, 2022, the Fall 2022 semester commencement was held at Seinan Community Center for 39 international students from 11 countries and regions. 80 people including full-year students who learned together with them, Japanese buddies who supported their school life, and their instructors attended the commencement to celebrate their completion.

 At the commencement, President Naoki IMAI awarded completion certificates to Fall 2022 semester students and gave a convocation address. In his message, he expressed his hope that they could be a “bridge” between Japan and their countries by passing on what they learned and felt through their study abroad experiences to future generations.

 After Dr. Toru KIYOMIYA, Director of the Center for International Education gave a farewell address, 5 representatives gave short speeches on behalf of international students. One of these representatives, Mr. Hiu To WONG, an exchange student from Hong Kong Baptist University gave a speech in Japanese and said, “We all did not meet “by chance” but by “God’s intention”. During my stay in Seinan Gakuin University, I met many wonderful people and spent fruitful time. Through my study abroad experience, I discovered 2 goals, these are; “to study in Japan again” and “to work in Japan in the future”. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to God and Baptist missionary who founded Seinan Gakuin University.”

 After the commencement ends, a farewell party organized by SGS (SEINAN Global Society) was held at the Global Student Lounge and participants enjoyed the rest of the time with Fall 2022 semester students who are leaving the campus.
