Admission for 2010-2011 Academic Year for Self-financed Students

Seinan Gakuin University accepts independent students into its International Division for the 2010-2011 academic year according to the following procedure. Non-English speaker is required to have proficiency in English to understand the classes taught in English.(TOEFL 550) However, proficiency in Japanese is not required for admission.

3	OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF GRADES from all the post-secondary schools attended
4	FINANCIAL STATEMENT Bank statement with official signature/seal must be submitted. It is important to show the Japanese immigration department that applicant has enough financial resources to stay for 10 months (for one semester only: 5 months). The fund must be evaluated in the actual currency that shows the equivalent amount of more than ¥1,600,000 (for one semester only: ¥800,000) in Japanese yen. In case the expense while in Japan will be partly or fully covered by any organizational fund, an official letter from the applicant's financial source should be attached. *This information given to the CIE will be strictly confidential and be only used for the applicant's admission and visa purposes, not to be used for any other purpose.

7		STUDENT ACCOMMODATION APPLICATION FORM [PDF:94KB]
	Accommodation will be assigned to incoming students based upon the time and date the student accommodation application form is submitted. Although the form will be accepted by email and FAX, please send the original by mail. If the demand for each accommodation exceeds its capacity reserved for incoming students, you will be considered for the second, third or fourth choice.

11	ENGLISH PROFICIENCY STATEMENT (non-native speakers of English only) If the applicant's native language is another than English, a letter in English (one page in A4 or letter size) must be submitted stating the reason why he/she intends to apply for our International Division.

5. ADMISSION DECISION

Admission decision will be made on the basis of application documents. Each applicant will be notified of the decision in May, 2010.

6. TERM OF ENROLLMENT

Fall Semester: August- December, 2010
Spring Semester: January - May 2011
The admission is for both fall and spring semesters.

7. APPLICATION FEE

Application fee JPY ¥11,000
Please send the International Postal Money Order in JAPANESE YEN together with all application documents. We do not accept a bank check. You must pay in Japanese Yen. We do not accept any other currency. It can never be refunded without regard to the acceptance or non-acceptance of your application.
The money order should be payable to: Gakkou-Hojin Seinan Gakuin Rijicho Terazono Yoshiki. A bank check is not acceptable.

8. TUITION FEE

720,000 JPY/one year

360,000 JPY/one semester

9. SCHOLARSHIP

Not available for self-financial students.

10. DORMITORY

Seinan Gakuin University International House is available(Monthly rent is 31,000 yen)
